Mark Sengelmann
Firm Principal
A native of Columbus Ohio, Mark found his interest in architecture at a young age. Mark earned a Masters in Architecture from the University of Illinois and an undergraduate degree in Environmental Design from Miami University in Oxford Ohio.
In 1989 Mark founded his own firm, Port City Architecture. After selling his stake years later, he founded a new firm: Port City Design, since renamed ALPHAarchitects in 2008. Mark is a licensed architect in Maine and Massachusetts and is a member of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.

ALPHAarchitects is a New England Architecture firm that prides itself on its ability to listen and respond to its clients’ needs in a prompt and effective manner. We have found that our involvement in projects from concept to completion greatly enhances the value of the property.
Our goal initially is to form a working partnership with each client based on trust. We strive to fully understand the parameters of each unique site with regard to quality of light, views, weather patterns and native vegetation. Listening and being aware of our clients needs is essential for successful project collaboration.
